In response to communications from players and others, the World Pool and Billiard Association(WPA) would like to assert that the two events being organized by Dragon Promotions as “World” events, the “World 14.1 Tournament” and the “World Mixed Doubles Championship,” are not World Championship events recognized by the WPA or any international governing body of pool. Dragon Promotions has chosen to call these World events and they may call them that if this is their desire, but it is the duty of the WPA to make certain that players, fans and sponsors are aware that these events are not world championship events and that the results from these will not be found in any official records book in the future.
