The World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) proudly celebrates the conclusion of the 2025 North American Heyball Open, held at the world-class Shenba Heyball Club in Mexico City, Mexico.
The five-day international event — hosted in collaboration with JOY Billiards, Liber Win, WHT, and the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) — featured the world’s best men’s and women’s Heyball athletes competing for a $116,000 total prize fund and vital global ranking points on the Road to the World Heyball Championship.
WOMEN’S CHAMPION — WARATTHANUN SUKRITTHANES (THAILAND) 🇹🇭
In a thrilling final that had fans on edge from start to finish, Waratthanun Sukritthanes of Thailand triumphed over Wendy Jans (Belgium) with a 4–3 victory, claiming the 2025 North American Heyball Open title.
Sukritthanes showcased nerves of steel and unmatched precision, coming from behind in key moments to seal the narrow win and deny Jans a record third consecutive continental title. Her journey through the event included commanding wins over Amy Beauchamp (England) and Mary Talbot (England), displaying her world-class consistency and composure.
With this victory, Waratthanun cements her place among the global elite, adding the North American crown to her growing legacy as one of Asia’s finest cue sports talents.
MEN’S CHAMPION — JACK WHELAN (UNITED KINGDOM) 🇬🇧
On the men’s side, Jack Whelan (UK) continued his stellar run of form, claiming the North American Heyball Open Men’s Championship with a 7–3 victory over Ruben Bautista (Mexico).
Whelan’s command over the table, combined with his experience and mental fortitude, carried him through a powerful international field to earn another major continental title. The British cueist continues to shine as one of the defining figures of the modern Heyball era.
