The 2025 WPA African Heyball Open concluded today at the Hotel Concorde El Salam Sport, wrapping up four days of world-class competition, international sportsmanship, and memorable moments on African soil. With athletes representing over 20 nations across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, this year’s event marked one of the most globally diverse editions of the championship.
Across both divisions, fans witnessed exceptional performances, dramatic comebacks, and high-level heyball mastery as players competed for the $116,000 total prize fund—with $58,000 awarded in each category.
MEN’S DIVISION – JORDAN SHEPHERD CROWNS HIMSELF CHAMPION
Great Britain’s Jordan Shepherd delivered a dominant performance in the final to claim the 2025 Men’s African Heyball Open Title, defeating South Africa’s Jason Theron with a commanding 7–2 victory.
His path to the trophy featured composure under pressure, including a hill-hill semifinal win, followed by a near-flawless performance in the championship match.

Her back-to-back triumph cements her position as one of the most dominant forces in women’s heyball today.
