For Immediate Release

Brisbane, 17 September 2025 β€” Under the vibrant lights of the Brisbane Convention Centre, the 2025 WPA Heyball Champion of Champions officially opened last night with a grand ceremony that set the stage for four days of world-class competition.

As the winds of the Southern Hemisphere carried the passion for Heyball across the globe, 114 of the world’s finest athletes from 50 nations have gathered in Brisbane to battle for the crown of crowns β€” the title of Champion of Champions.

The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including:

  • 🌟 Barry Jenner, President of Cue Sports Australia

  • 🌟 Ishaun Singh, President of the World Pool Association

  • 🌟 Councillor Greg Adermann, Pullenvale Ward, representing Adrian Schrinner, Lord Mayor of Brisbane

  • 🌟 Councillor Steven Huang, MacGregor Ward, Brisbane City Council

  • 🌟 Qiao Yuanxu, Founder of JOY Billiards

The WPA extends heartfelt gratitude to these leaders for their presence and inspiring words, which underscored the importance of Heyball as a sport that unites nations and inspires new generations.

This year’s edition is played on the newly introduced Unity Heyball Ballset and features 16 state-of-the-art JOY Heyball tables, ensuring players and fans experience the highest standards of the game. The matches will be broadcast live on www.wpalive.tv, bringing the excitement to audiences worldwide.

With men and women competing as equals β€” 64 men and 50 women β€” this year’s Champion of Champions reflects the vision of the sport:
β€œHeyball Rolls, World Unites.”

Over the next four days, the world will witness unforgettable performances, culminating on 21 September with the crowning of the 2025 Champion of Champions and the medal ceremony.

πŸ’¬ WPA President Ishaun Singh remarked:

β€œThis is more than a tournament β€” it is a celebration of unity, excellence, and the future of our sport. From Brisbane, we send a message to the world: Heyball is here, it is global, and it is ready for the Olympic stage.”

The story begins now. The question remains: Who will rise as the Champion of Champions?
