2026 Asian Pool Championships Stage 2 Begins Today in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | July 10, 2026 – The Stage 2 of the 2026 Asian Pool Championships, a World Pool Association (WPA)-sanctioned event organized by the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS), begins today at the Ho Xuan Huong Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Following the successful completion of the qualifying stage, Asia’s finest players are now set to battle for four prestigious continental titles across five days of world-class competition.

The championship will feature:

  • ANDY Men’s 10-Ball Asian Pool Championship (July 10–13)
  • A+Plus Men’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship (July 13–15)
  • HOW Women’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship (July 10–13)
  • EBR Junior’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship (July 10–13)

The championships carry a total prize fund of US$107,200, underlining the growing stature of Asian pool on the international stage. Competitors will battle for US$40,000 in both the ANDY Men’s 10-Ball Asian Pool Championship and the A+Plus Men’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship, while the HOW Women’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship features a US$24,000 purse. The EBR Junior’s 9-Ball Asian Pool Championship will award US$3,200, recognizing the region’s emerging talent and supporting the continued development of the sport.

A total of 25 countries and regions are represented, highlighting the strength and diversity of pool across Asia as the continent’s best players compete for championship honours and valuable WPA World Ranking points.

Prior to the start of play, the official Players’ Meeting was conducted, where tournament officials briefed athletes and team representatives on championship regulations, competition procedures, and the match schedule, ensuring all participants are fully prepared for the competition ahead.

Adding further significance to the occasion, ACBS President Mohamed Salem Al-Nuaimi arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and met with the junior athletes competing in the championship. During the interaction, he encouraged the young players, wished all competitors success, and reaffirmed ACBS’ commitment to developing the next generation of cue sports talent across Asia.

As a WPA-sanctioned championship, the event continues the Association’s commitment to supporting high-level continental competition and strengthening the pathway for athletes towards the sport’s premier international events.
