ASIAN HEYBALL OPEN 2026 CONFIRMED FOR MALAYSIA

The World Pool Association (WPA), in cooperation with the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) and the Malaysian Snooker & Billiards Federation (MSBF), is pleased to confirm that the 2026 Asian Heyball Open will take place from 7–12 April 2026 at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Malaysia

The event forms part of the World Heyball Tour under the Joy Billiards “Uniting the World” campaign and is one of six continental Heyball Open events on the international calendar

Event Overview

The championship will feature:

64 Men | 64 Women

Total Prize Fund: USD 116,000

USD 58,000 (Men) | USD 58,000 (Women)

Competition will be played under WPA Heyball Rules on JOY Billiards professional Heyball tables, using LiberWin cloth and WPA Unity balls

All matches will be broadcast live on https://www.WPALive.tv

Tournament Schedule

Arrival & Accreditation: 7 April 2026

Mandatory Athletes’ Meeting: 7 April 2026

Opening Ceremony: 7 April 2026

Tournament Play: 8–11 April 2026

Departure: 12 April 2026

Format & Competition Structure

The event will follow a two-stage format:

Stage 1 – Double Elimination

16 athletes seeded via WPA Heyball Rankings

Race to 7 (Men) / Race to 6 (Women)

100-minute match time limit

2026 Asian Heyball Open

Stage 2 – Single Elimination

Final 16 players

Shootout if tied at the end of regulation time

Entry & Eligibility

Entry is strictly via WPA Member Nomination.

WPA Member Nomination Deadline: 1 March 2026

Athlete Online Registration Deadline: 8 March 2026

Entry Fee: USD 100

All athletes must:

Hold a valid WPA Athlete License

Complete the ADEL International-Level Athletes Education Program

National Federations must submit nominations directly to events@wpapool.com

Prize Money Distribution

Each division (Men & Women) will award USD 58,000 with an equal payout structure.

Champion: USD 10,000
Runner-up: USD 6,000
Semi-finalists: USD 4,000
Quarter-finalists: USD 2,000
Last 16: USD 1,250

Prize money will be disbursed electronically by the WPA within 30 days following the event

Host City & Logistics

The Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam will serve as the official venue. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is approximately 40–50 minutes from the venue

Official hotel options and athlete transport services are coordinated by the Malaysian Snooker & Billiards Federation
