WPA Surpasses USD $11.4 Million in Prize Money

as WPALIVE.tv Expands Global Reach

South Africa – April 17, 2026

The World Pool Association (WPA) has announced that over USD $11.4 million in prize money was distributed across WPA-sanctioned events in 2025, marking a significant milestone in the continued professionalisation of cue sports worldwide.

This record level reflects growing commercial confidence in the sport and reinforces the WPA’s position as the global governing authority overseeing international competition, standards, and integrity.

At the same time, WPALIVE.tv is rapidly emerging as the sport’s global digital platform, already delivering live and on-demand coverage into 127 countries. The platform is designed to unify the sport’s fragmented landscape by connecting players, fans, federations, and commercial partners on a single, always-on ecosystem.

WPA President Ishaun Singh said:
“The growth in prize money is a clear signal that cue sports is entering a new era. The trust placed in the WPA reflects our commitment to governance, fairness, and professionalism across all sanctioned events.”

Prize money distribution spanned multiple disciplines and global events, supporting both established professionals and emerging talent across all regions. Notably, the data highlights strong participation and earnings across both men’s and women’s competitions, reinforcing the inclusive and global nature of the sport.

As the WPA continues to expand its calendar and strengthen partnerships, the organisation remains focused on building a sustainable and transparent financial framework that benefits athletes, promoters, and stakeholders alike.

This milestone underscores the transformation of cue sports into a structured, commercially viable global sport — governed, standardised, and unified under the WPA.

Glenn Weiland, President of WPALIVE.tv, added:
“Broadcasting into 127 countries is just the beginning. WPALIVE.tv is building a unified global ecosystem for cue sports — creating scale, visibility, and a new digital home for the sport.”

WPALIVE.tv combines multi-table live coverage, AI-driven analytics, and interactive fan engagement tools to deliver an immersive viewing experience. Upcoming features include real-time player insights and advanced data integration powered by Foresense Technologies.

Together, these developments signal a decisive shift — positioning cue sports as a globally connected and commercially scalable sport.
