ARTISTIC POOL DIVISION
The groundwork for the WPA Artistic Pool Division was laid in 1999 during a meeting attended by three WPA board members and notable figures like Mike Massey, Paul Gerni, Tom Rossman, and Belinda Campos. The vision was to establish a committee dedicated to organizing World and Continental Championships for professional Artistic Pool.
Although the inaugural World Championship took place in 2000, the formal establishment of the WPA Artistic Pool Division occurred in 2002, solidifying its recognition within the WPA. A comprehensive 40-shot program was crafted, encompassing eight distinct disciplines, each requiring the execution of 5 shots. These disciplines include Trick & Fancy, Special Arts, Draw, Follow, Bank/Kick, Stroke, Jump, and Massé. Artistic Pool is typically showcased on a standard 9ft Pool table, utilizing 57 mm balls.
