The World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) has announced further details for the Commonwealth Cue Sports Championships 2026, as athletes from across the Commonwealth prepare to compete in one of the most prestigious events on the international cue sports calendar.
Following a successful inaugural edition in Mauritius in 2025, the Championships return for their second staging and will be hosted in India for the very first time. Taking place from 7–10 October 2026 at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, the event will bring together the Commonwealth’s leading cue sports athletes to compete for the coveted Commonwealth medals.
Organised by Apex Sports Promotion, hosted by the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), and endorsed by WCBS and Commonwealth Sport, the Championships will feature 10 medal events across five disciplines:
- Snooker
- Billiards
- Blackball
- Heyball
- 10-Ball
Separate Men’s and Women’s events will be contested in each discipline, reflecting the Championships’ commitment to equal opportunities for athletes across the Commonwealth.
Athletes will arrive on 7 October, with competition taking place from 8–10 October, before departing on 11 October. Alongside world-class competition, the Championships will showcase India’s renowned hospitality while celebrating the spirit of friendship, excellence and unity that defines Commonwealth Sport.
As preparations continue, WCBS has also published the official Athlete Guide, which provides participating athletes and Member Federations with essential information, including competition schedules, tournament formats, travel and accommodation details, practice arrangements, branding requirements, anti-doping regulations, broadcast information, athlete conduct, and other key event procedures.
The World Pool Association (WPA) encourages all athletes competing in the 10-Ball, Heyball and Blackball disciplines, together with their respective Member Federations, to review the Athlete Guide before travelling to India.
Further announcements, including confirmed athlete entries, tournament draws, broadcast details and event updates, will be published by WCBS in the lead-up to the Championships.
