ROME, ITALY — Kristina Tkach and Chou Chieh-Yu etched their names into the history books by capturing the inaugural FUJIFILM Women’s Doubles Master Showdown title, defeating Seo Seoa and Savannah Easton in straight sets, 3-1, 3-1, at the Rome Cavalieri Hotel.
After falling to the same pairing in the Winners’ Qualification round, Tkach and Chou produced a composed and clinical performance in the championship match to claim the USD $20,000 top prize. Unlike many of the tournament’s closely contested matches that were decided by shoot-outs, the final saw the champions maintain control throughout to secure the historic victory.
“It’s unbelievable,” said Chou Chieh-Yu. “Kristina always had me covered and I really enjoyed playing with her. I just focused on every shot, and now I’ve forgotten everything except how much fun this event was.”
For Tkach, the doubles triumph provided a welcome lift following a heartbreaking exit from the Banca del Fucino WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship earlier in the day.
“When you play races to three, nothing is comfortable,” said Kristina Tkach. “It’s always a rollercoaster of emotions and sometimes a little bit of luck. Earlier today was really difficult for me, but I didn’t want to let my partner down. I regrouped, gave my best, and we got the job done.”
World Championship Final Set
The 2026 Banca del Fucino WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship has reached its final stage, with Chezka Centeno (Philippines) and Margareta Fefilova Styer (Belarus) advancing to Thursday’s championship match after dominant semi-final victories in Rome.
Centeno, the defending champion, continued her outstanding run with a commanding 3-0 victory over Seo Seoa (South Korea), keeping alive her bid to successfully defend the world title. Displaying her trademark composure and precision, the Filipina controlled the match from the outset to secure her place in another WPA World Championship final.
In the second semi-final, Fefilova Styer produced an equally impressive performance, defeating Chou Chieh-Yu (Chinese Taipei) by the same 3-0 scoreline. The Belarusian has enjoyed a breakthrough week in Rome, overcoming a series of tough opponents to reach the first WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship final of her career.
The championship match now presents a compelling contest between the reigning world champion and one of the tournament’s standout performers. Centeno will be aiming to capture another WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship crown, while Fefilova Styer has the opportunity to make history with her maiden world title.
